You have a choice of either 1st or 2nd edition, but I really don't see any reason for someone to play a 1st edition Thief.  Well, anyway the choice is up to you.  Allocate the points as per 2nd edition PHB if you are playing that edition.  Have fun.  I will allow any ads or disads, simply ask if you wish one.
